Bucy Radebe, Gospel Music Artist

Bucy was born in Maboloka village near Brits, North West province of South Africa and grew up in Soshanguve, North of Pretoria. She is currently residing in Rustenburg, North West province of South Africa, where she is happily married.

 

Her debut album called Spiritual Encounter, was recorded live at Mmabatho Coovention Centre on the 02nd of November 2019 under Polokego Music, record label owened by her husband and manager.

Bucy, which came out of her childhood nickname, Busi, was adopted as her stage name as part of her unique brand positioning.

 
Spiritual Encounter was released on the 28th of  February 2020 and on its  first 2 years, it reached over 32-Million streams and 23-million YouTube views. In 2021, the album also saw Bucy bagging awards such as South African Music Awards (x2), Crown Gospel Music award (x1), and Ingomas (x2). The album also reached Gold in 2024, with the hit Single Uzugcin' Impilo Yam' reaching
 Multi Platinum in South African, certified by RISA.
 
Her hit song Uzugcin'Impilo Yam', became most DJ's favorite song and  also saw her getting most of her bookings in events such as soul sessions and all-white parties, which is rare  for gospel artists to be booked at such.

Bucy's 2nd Live Album was recorded on the 30th of April 2022 at the Sun City Superbowl, whose part one named "The Grace Encounter Vol 1", was released on 23rd of September 2022, with part two, "The Grace Encounter Vol 2, released on the 15th of March 2023. The 26-song album includes "O Mohau" hit song.

Bucy started her musical journey at the age of 10 when she joined Mafumbuka Primary School choral choir in 1997,  and further continued to participate in her secondary school choir at Botse-Botse high school in Soshanguve.

​

Pursuant to her music career, she joined her church youth choir at AFM (House of Praise branch) in Mabopane and participated in all musical church activities. She became a member of Kopano Chorus in 2007 and also joined Opera Africa in 2008 with which she did opera productions like Aida, Princess Magogo, La-Bohem, La-traviata, Carmen, Requiem

C-Mass and Ziyankomo..

She was also an alto backing vocalist for some of the South African renowned gospel artists such as Tebs David, Takie Ndou, Zaza, Ps. Solly Mahlangu and Spirit of Praise Vol 7.

Bucy is set to record her 3rd Live album on 26 April 2025, South Africa.
